The top banjo on the injector does not need to have fuel coming from it in use. Bleed the injector at the hex nut on the high pressure pipe. Slacken the nut a half turn and crank away, not for too long. Use the decompression lever if necessary.
Edit- close the seacock if cranking longer than 30...
What were the symptoms when running? Poor starting/ exhaust smoke when cold/ under full load? If your fuel is contaminated with water the injectors will suffer.
Only when they were aboard and unwrapped did I find a warning "not to be used with inverters". The voltage drop with a 3kW inverter boiling a kettle trips out the inverter- this with 8 batteries in a 24v bank. This was never an issue with the old gel bank, which lasted eight years, though...
Yes. The original system probably could be configured to either reverse the current straight out of the controller, or have a port feed, starboard feed, and common negative, if the hydraulics had solenoid valves instead of reversing the motor/ hydraulic pump.
You will need to rethink the vee belt drive, there is not much contact area with 60mm pulleys, and it's a tight radius for the belts. For nearly 2kW of power you'll need a cogged belt and pulleys, similar to ( wider) a car engine timing belt.
I would retain the existing alternator, and add a...
Two interconnected tanks at different heights and capacities were going to be complicated to measure- instead I fitted a domestic water meter at the pump outlet to measure how much I've used. Tank capacity is known, and I fill to full every time. A remote counter makes it easy to read, and one...
