Reading taken with voltmeter immediately after disconnecting charger (which spent most of time connected in maintenance mode). I think if I leave them (3 x Numax CXV24 86ah sealed) for a time but without doing anything to discharge them and without charger connected, drops back to 12.3-12.4...
thanks for tip - rang International for technical help and advice was to use 4 coats of Interprotect to patch over where original epoxy/newer epoxy primer removed.
Hull was epoxy primed earlier this year (Hempadour) and Cruiser Uno over - before putting on another coat of Uno, there are some small patches where surveyor has scraped away a/f and couple of larger areas where back to bare gelcoat on rudder (don't know why). OK just to use Primocon on these or...
Your response shows rather predictable response to my throwaway line on negative bend. Still I may have found a reason to avoid OODs and its nothing to do with the boat itself.......
I think this thread has run its course
Heavens, why so much hostility? I think it was "castrated" at least a couple of years before I looked at it as I wouldn't expect one used purely for racing to have a stac-pac for the mainsail and as for being "in-demand", clearly no-one has demanded this one. As it happens I would prefer the...
I am moving towards owning (as opposed to borrowing) first boat big enough to have inboard engine. I've read about winterising procedure for boats that are taken out of the water for the winter. But what if you keep it in a marina all year (apart from maybe month or so lift out for maintenance...
Thought I'd better put this on a new thread as its not really related to previous post on single-handing.
I've seen potentially nice OOD one that has been drysailed for much of its life and previous owner has done quite a bit of cruising orientated refit. However I had few thoughts before...
Looks like an old thread but really useful stuff. The one thing that I really dread single handed is coming onto a harbour wall especially at low tide where the rings are a long way above! Thinking of Poole town quay or Lyme Regis harbour.
Can I just take this thread on a slight diversion. If you think a boat is otherwise an attractive proposition but the engine is too big (40HP on Sadler 32) is there anything you can do to make it work? (I speak without the benefit of a sea trial here) - if its a matter of a larger prop then it...
Many thanks for replies - sort of confirms what I thought - another advantage might be (I am trying to remember form one weekend 5 years ago!) handiness under power forward and reverse. When not under autopilot I wondered whether you sit on the coaming forward of the traveller with a long enough...
