    River Dart winter berthing

Info please- After an epic tip to see a tired old boat in Ipswich, I've got another couple to possibly view, Sunderland and Dartmouth. The Dart one has to be removed when sold so I'd be looking for a low cost (yes, it's the Dart..) berth for it until the spring. Bilge keels so...

Pros and cons of Orwell berthing locations please.

Thanks, all. The boat was viewed this morning. No further action. The pics must have been years old. The search for that bilge keeler for not a lot anywhere in the UK continues.

Pros and cons of Orwell berthing locations please.

Hi Paul, you make some good points. I do want a pontoon berth with some security, I don't need EHU. After Preston with a day only lock and 14nm to the fairway buoy, Ipswich or similar isn't an issue

Pros and cons of Orwell berthing locations please.

I'm viewing a low value bilge keel yacht for sale in Ipswich ( I know, I know....) I'd like people with local knowledge to share the pros and cons of possible berthings for 6/12 months. Costs/access/friendliness/services etc. Thank you-

    Advice re selling bits

It's a fadge but individual items will make more than a job lot, even with some being unsold which could then be a job lot or Freecycle.

Drop in Lithium Batteries - the basics?

Does our archive include interesting debates when lead acid batteries and incandescent lamps started to replace hand cranking and oil lamps?

Drop in Lithium Batteries - the basics?

"You might come to know about it if the elderly FLA battery developed an internal short and turned into a 10 volt battery. A nice full LFP will pump a lot of juice into the dying FLA and all that heat has to go somewhere. Stand well back!" Hence the conservative 15A fuse.

Drop in Lithium Batteries - the basics?

Reading the thread and Kelpie's thoughts- "Another option, which I've not tried, is to fit lithium in parallel with a lead acid battery. I'm not aware that anybody in the forum has tried this but it is quite a tempting idea.: I'm experimenting doing just that, but camper based. I've 200w solar...

    Life after selling the boat.

    Liverpool Marina

I went there three weeks ago. Despite some old poor reviews, the marina staff were very efficient welcoming and helpful. The lock arrangements are a little confusing, re. fees and night time access, make sure you have booked with ?Craig. Visit My Harbour mentions the Rock Channel as locals only...

    Navionics

The AIS is direct from vessels transmitting on VHF, received by a black box and then wi-fi-ed to the Navionics device. (I use Quark) No phone signal involved
