    More HF interference afloat!

I run an FT857 in my car which has an 85Ah battery and running 100w pep on HF SSB I can operate quite happily whilst parked up for over 3 hours and still have enough juice in the battery to start a V8 diesel. An 857 operating on SSB will draw an average of 8-9 amps, so your 70Ah battery will...

    Boat names: TOO much?

I think there is an issue with Part 1 registered boat at least, in that, in order to call ones boat (eg) Lucinda Two; Lucinda 2 or Lucinda II, one has to have owned the original boat Part 1 registered as Lucinda, whereas "too" does not have the same numerical connotation. Nick

Hi from new member and questions about Superhawk 48

IIRC, the triple engined Superhawks can suffer from a flooded centre engine air inlet/turbo because that engine is mounted low down in the boat (it has been known on twin engine installations if the legs are mounted too low on the transom. Also worth a look for articles (this forum and others)...

Whp is responsible for a yacht if it is traded in?

In our case the dealer didn't find a buyer prior to the delivery of our new one, so we continued to insure it until the date of handover of our new one and they accounted in the price of our new one the agreed value of our old one.

I Keep getting offers on my boat

So.... We kept our 2006 Doral Boca Grande in the Med for 3 years, during which time the total annual cost of marina berth, flights, hire cars, subsistence etc more than doubled (marine mortage rates dropped of course, so we paid a lot more off than we originally expected!). We put the boat up...

Boat Transport - Spain - UK

Estemed Forumites, With collective heavy hearts, the skipper and I have decided to bring "Freya" back to the UK, as the economic climate and workload is preventing us from getting out to Spain as often as we would like and there is no point in investing in something that sits and does nothing...

Doral / Volvo D4 / DPH Leg - Haunted Steering???

Tom, Cheers for this.....not sure we've ever had a leaky ram, but evenso....am I right in thinking that there is only one of these (on the starboard leg I guess as power-steering etc is driven from this engine) driving the other leg through the tie-bar and are the gods being kind by fitting all...
