The video is a bit misleading, but as confirmed by others the LCD screen is supplied with the new ribbon attached.
I had put up with a dead lcd for 5yrs, it was nice to have the original engine hours back!
Also whilst it was apart I replaced the small bulbs so hopefully good for a least another...
Today I finally got round to changing the failed LCD screen on our Yanmar hour meter... a common problem which has been discussed on here many times before!
I found a replacement part in the UK which cost £19.99 + Postage.
Anyone interested it can be found here...
Thanks for the link, it’s good to get confirmation of a single grade oil although I'd be happy to use multigrade if thats all I could find.
Clean multigrade oil got to be better than leaving in the old oil!
Confusingly it does state on the gearbox plate the oil should be HD? Whether it makes...
I'm no expert, this is only from my experience, I service 4 cars & 5 HGV lorries and use various oils for engine /gearbox/differentials etc.
Every multi grade oil specified has been written like this;
15w-40; 15w40; 80w-90 or 80w90 etc.
I have never seen a multigrade oil written down as 20/30...
I have the same engine/gearbox and I'm pretty sure it's a monograde oil needed, either SAE 20 HD or SAE 30 HD.
I use SAE 30 HD (Heavy Duty) engine oil.
I can't remember how, but my reflectors came out OK - I think I used a small flathead screwdriver to pry them out.
I also bought two different LED sizes from Searolf (6 & 9 SMD)to see which ones I preferred. The smaller ones just fit with the reflector in place.

I bought one of these this year http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/das-6-pro-dual-action-polisher/das-6-pro-dual-action-polisher/prod_673.html
I'm very happy with it, so far I've cut and polished a 'chalky' 40ft blue hull and three large removal lorries!
Picture of first attempt...
It may be different now, but last year we used Lombard for a marine finance.
We had a 24% deposit and borrowed a lot less then £75k! We didn't have to Part 1 Register either, which was a requirement from other lenders.
Mabe a higher deposit is needed?
At the time I actually wanted to...
I've used a Fellowes ms450cs for the past 4 years or so (Small office, two people sharing)
'Micro shreds' paper for data protection, cuts up credit cards.
Will chew through staples, so no need to remove them first.
Not cheap but seems well built and still going strong.
Cheers, Dan
To mickywillis;
I bought it without running the engine or doing sea trial :o (Blocked of Ashore)
On launch the engine required throttle to start, but idled OK once warmed up, max rpm in gear at WOT indicated 2400 - 2500 (however I recently found out the tacho is not reliable so this was...
