    270ah DIY LiFePO4 build

I actually ordered a Dacus a few weeks ago. Just waiting for it and my shunts to arrive. It will be replacing a cheap chinese BMS. I like the switched output/input of Dacus, and will be using it to remotely switch my Victron MPPT controllers, and on the low side it will switch a Victron Smart...

    Customs and Duty post Brexit

As others have said, UK postage on many items is a bit of a joke. Cactus Nav for example wanted £20 to send a 30cm cable to Spain. Yet WaveInn will send the same cable to the UK for less than £4. Similar with many other UK sites, and that is ones that would actually send items abroad. Many...

I don't see it as a problem. These cells aren't large. In fact smaller than the plastic cased ones. People have installed crazy sizes in the plastic cells, and haven't reported big problems as yet. I often lambast the way my boat moves into the wind. In fact the force was so strong recently...

    Taking a PLB abroad.

I carried my EPIRB abroad. No problem. I explained what it was at security at the airport, they, checked it and were happy. Easy does it.

Registering a small yacht in the Caribbean

Then you are stuck though. It's a bit like Panama where practically everywhere is up wind of it, and the Caribbean sea doesn't seem to make for particularly pleasant passages once you are out west.

Diesel additives to keep fuel tank clean

It is worth bearing in mind if you don't keep your boat in the UK, you won't find Marine 16 abroad especially in the chandlers. you'll have to opt for something different for which you might not find any test data on. As to the motorcycle reference. I used to ride mine in the winter. Even got...

UK bank accounts to be closed for people resident in Europe

Every cruiser and traveller knows that you need to keep a UK address or risk getting your accounts closed/frozen. I remember coming back from motorcycling around North Africa to find that one of my accounts had been suspended. The reason was that a piece of correspondence was returned to them by...

Where did you get your hex head threaded rod studs from? They seem very rare in stainless.

    Dead tacktick T033 - battery?

From about 2012 I believe that all models are dual frequency. It's worth checking that yours is running on the right European frequency, I think it's 833mhz.

    Electric scooters

I bought a Xiaomi 365 in Spain over a year and a half ago now. Not touched my bicycle since. It's been absolutely fantastic. Especially in Spain where you'll see hundreds of them. As usual the UK way behind the curve when it comes to technology (remember the porn ban?), but this is what you get...

    270ah DIY LiFePO4 build

I saw on facebook there was concern of RJ Energy shipping out used or B rated cells with the cell QR scratched out. I was concerned about mine considering they had a scratch or two on a terminal here and there, and a different colour cell wrapping on one of them. The original etched QR codes...

    Saildrive Leg Paint/Preparation.

Face-off disc on an angle grinder for removing the old paint. don't worry, it's nylon so won't harm the aluminium. Then you can etch it, but really you don't need to if using a good chromate primer, like Alexseal Cor spec. Then apply a two part paint suitable for underwater (though car paints...

    Genoa sheet diameter

That's interesting. On my 35m2 genoa on a cat I'm using 10mm. It's easy for me to hold, and pull, and plenty strong enough. 14mm is beast size to me. Very heavy, especially when flying around.

Topsides painted when is ok to put back in water

Only 1 coat may be required for touchup/repair. so I suppose it all depends on what he is aiming for. If exceeding the maximum time to overcoat, there is no problem, the OP will just have to sand in between his coats. It might well affect how glossy the final appearance is, but personally I...
