Thanks for the advice. We'll keep an eye on it but all the evidence at the moment shows that the problem is fixed. Wiring has been checked too but as you can tell from the picture there were a number of melted wires. We have two battery monitors working in different ways and batteries were new...

Hi, In Ipswich Haven, we have always suffered from a lot of chlorine in the water. We have an inexpensive solution of an in line water filter used when we fill up from the hose. We got ours from Screwfix. A few more details in the blog but a top, cheap idea and makes a huge difference...

We clean our every three to six months. Have had too many times when the float switch has clogged and not kicked in as it should = Grey water in bilge. We recently had the float switch fail too which wasn’t ideal. https://mariadz.com/2019/05/18/grey-water-float-switch/
