why would you want one that takes disposable batteries when you could for very similar price have lithium ion which have very low self discharge, tiny memory effect and last much longer than the best disposables?

A lot of the stuff that you don't know will be the same for any owner of a new boat i.e. what switch does what and all that can be learnt safely tied to the pontoon.

If you have a recent Snapdragon chipped phone it'll be able to see Galileo sats.
I don't know the answer to this or whether it's relevant but when people spec new boat electronics do they consider whether it's Galileo compatible or is everything compatible by default. Or doesn't it matter?
A couple of years ago we tried to take two very small telescopic rods (no reel, line or hooks) to Spain, gatwick - malaga in hand luggage and was refused.
If it helps going forward, I used IVSS as in the above link and had perfect service. my then 15 year old DPE came back looking as new and has been faultless. If you need a second opinion on your leg setup I'd recommend them.
My son has a xbox one x and it runs off a cheap 350watt inverter quite easily, as in the cooling fan of the inverter rarely starts. The TV is 12v so just plugs into lighter socket. He tethers it to his phone for online games, it seems the data usage is quite minimal when doing so.
35' planning hull. Kept UK south coast, Chichester. I come out of the water every other year and have never had to clean the hull, the job the yard does when taking her out is all that is needed.
I do maybe once or twice in the summer when at anchor swim around the boat with a green abrasive pad...
