I appreciate it's a while since this post so a reply may no longer be of any use, but I have (part) owned a Sagitta 35 for five years. Genuinely the best built boat I have ever come across. One of my co-owners is a retired boat builder of some standing and he agrees (and indeed will tell anyone...
Ah that sort of figures. Especially if you are using a more robotic firm. If you have bought the boat from the owner and he has 25% NCB and you have no ownership history then you get a "computer says no" type scenario which I am afraid is creeping in a bit more. However there are firms there who...
Bit further west, there wasn't enough wind to get a race in in Poole Bay so the JOG Poole-Cowes race was canned. We'd all had a cracking race there on the Saturday though.
This thread is making me somewhat nostalgic for my 18' bilge keeler that I had in a creek on the E side of Hayling ten or more years ago. On the very rare occasions I wanted to get out of the harbour, I'd move from my drying trot to Sparkes whenever the tide allowed on Friday night and that...

This is true and as a purist who loves watching match racing in slow boats, in my heart I agree, but the modern AC is more like F1. My Impala is no further from the new AC design than my Volvo is from an F1 car.
It happened to us the other week. For a while I thought we were going to be run down but in truth, the knuckle draggers know not what they do in the main. My crew were livid but these crayon-eaters don't really understand the consequences of their actions and I am sure would not do it if they...
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Hanse (particularly not of that vintage), but the old Dehlers were, in my view, up there with an X-yacht for quality.
That the build quality and attention to detail is not of the standard that it was on the older Dehlers which was really very good. Now they're no better than any other AWB
