    Hot water leak.

Quick update. Many thanks! Got a pro to look at it who recommended changing the calorifier Pressure Relief Valve, which also incorporates a temperature relief sensor (I didn't know that but your link shows it clearly. . As the bilges were filling with hot water only after the engine had been...

    Hot water leak.

Many thanks everyone, some useful ideas. I’m about to fill the FW tank now to get it to leak again. Hopefully from somewhere easy to spot and even easier to repair.Ever the optimist…

Just discovered bilge full of hot water and the freshwater tank empty. It’s a Jeanneau SO37. Anyone had a similar experience?

    Md22 - which oil is suitable? U

I`ve never been able to get Shell Rimula tho. I understand it is ideal. Eurocarparts sell Triple QX Mineral for £20.62 for 5 ltrs ( often discounts are available, especially to first time customers) The spec. is Volvo VDS-3, ACEA E7, API CI-4/SL and I use it in my MD2040. It`s important not to...

    Here we go again.

I’ve had cataract removal from both eyes on the NHS and you’ll be glad you had it done. It’s one of their most performed procedures. I’m now cleared for driving without glasses and can read pretty well without them too, having worn specs all my life. More importantly perhaps, having had...

Servicing a Yamnar 2GM20. Go with original parts or 3rd party, any thoughts?

FWIW My previous boat had a 2GM20 and the VP alternator belt became loose at least twice a season until I fitted a Gates model. It never needed adjustment after, at all.. As for the fuel filters I was cautious about fitting non genuine ones on the Engine Filter, I could never be certain what...

    Suez blocked.

Blatantly obvious some of us East Coast yachtsmen could sort that fiasco out in no time such is our widespread experience in getting boats on and off the putty. Could earn a few bob doing it as well.

    Yanmar 2GM20 Workshop Manual/Torques

Good morning G12, I tried to include a service manual here but it 14.6mb it's too large for this server however I see the U.S. j30 class website has a good workshop manual for these engines which is worth a look and might be download-able. They have some other very useful notes for...

    Replacing or annealing copper washer

Hot tip ( forgive pun ) I discovered, don't grasp it in pliers or the like as they'll act as a heat sink. Hang it from a big nail and grasp that, the heat stays on the washer.

    Leisure 20 Keel dimensions

Many thanks for that data, Mark. Just what I needed. I was in the LOA but no longer own the boat - I'm helping the new owner. I'd happily buy another tho' as it's a great little boat. Handled nicely, solid, good sized cabin & dry cockpit for a 20 footer. I think the new owner wants a trailer, Lake...

    Leisure 20 Keel dimensions

Can anyone give me the keel dimensions of the twin-keel version, please? It`s for a trailer and the boat needs to remain afloat until hauled. I suppose we would need the inside and outside keel widths and perhaps the distance from rear of keels to skeg and any more you would think necessary...

    Product Endorsement-Metz VHF Antenna

I fitted one to my Jeanneau, also from Salty John (who was very helpful incidentally) atop a 10.5m mast and using a continuous cable supplied by him and I can affirm the reception and transmitting ability is really stunning. I can receive vessels miles away, - channel 16 is almost at the...
