All the iPads that take a 3G/4G sim have gps. None of the others do.
I understand an external gps can be connected to a basic, wifi iPad but not sure what to go for.

Six adults on a 39' isn't a problem, as long as it's three couples and you're all friends comfortable in shared spaces. A 50' would certainly be better but a 39' is OK.
