Ever been seasick on your own boat?

After being deep sea for many years and sailed since I was 10 I have only been seasick once. About 20 year's ago I was heading North for the Clyde in December on my Bruce Robert's 34 with three of us onboard. We where motoring up the North Channel into a blow with wind over tide and steep seas...

Tom Cunliffe talks about the solid fuel stove on his yacht. Anyone have one?

Recommendations for winter storage in W Scotland?

There are three yard's in Rosneath. I have used DRB Marine for many years now under new management as RB Marine. I can recommend them not least on price. Half an hour into Helensburgh by bus for trains to Glasgow

One man and his dog! Clyde to Scillies, the Ireland route!

We have sailed the Irish coast many times with our dog. As other posts say no dog passport and no issues. However it's a long haul from Rosslair to Scilly especially for our dog who wouldn't do his business onboard.

Now you have pointed out what a friendlier and better attitude there is in Scotland, oh and how much better you are at choosing a governments how welcome do you think someone from England will feel.

The age of Steam and the Weir direct acting pump

I recall a Superintendent calling for the man who designed the MXS to come out and get the bloody thing working after a drydock, not just a service engineer!

The age of Steam and the Weir direct acting pump

I remember as a junior engineer on one of Shells motor ships running to the feed pump to hit the shuttle valve with a hammer to restart it after the Chinese firemans plaintive calls from the he boiler room.
