Thanks for the advice.
A sixteen hour journey with little guarantee of success did not appeal. I have decided, instead, to take my chances with the weather and stay in the upper Thames for a while longer. Hopefully, Chertsey will be fixed in a few weeks, and if not, I can wait somewhere beyond...
I just received this email at 1:49pm, 22 September 2023

A small boat with an outboard sank last night at Marlow. Its at the end of the free moorings past the footbridge.
I thaught the owner, or a friend might be on this forum.
Indeed, I have read that UV damage causes cloudiness and makes it brittle. But, I don't understand why it starts as a small spot that grows. Shouldn't the UV damage affect the whole surface equally? I have a near horizontal roof window for the fly-bridge. The whole surface gets the same light...
I did consider it might be VU damage however, most of the the window is still very flexible and the whole window gets the same amount of light. The damage starts on the outside surface away from the edge as small roughly circular cloudy sport which grows. Eventually it become brittle and cracks...

I was hoping to pop down to Windsor and moor on the Eaton bank on Friday 18th May. Does anyone know if there is room? I think they are allowing mooring three abreast.

The two propellors rotate in opposite directions so should I expect the thread on the...
I must say the email updates are very excellant.
I was stuck in Windsor by the park earlier this year for a week because I set off not knowing the lock was still closed.
Doesn't everyone use mobile. This forum doesn't work on mobile.
There was no mention of this on the EA website and it's not in the email I just received: "Issue six - Thames Lock Closures Investment Programme for 2014 to 2015". Next time I will check this forum.
No worries, hid my boat somewhere safe and will continue the journey next weekend.
