    Shortage of 4.5 kilo Butane.

No. I had a devil of a job getting 4.5kg butane in Newlyn last month. Ended up renting a car and driving for an hour to source a bottle. Apparently, the gas industry is short of bottles due to Covid as many more people than usual are buying bottles for staycations and not using the gas...

    SW Sunk, still passable?

Thanks, Given that, maybe foulgers gap will be the better option, assuming I can get around the diving vessels working on the wind farm.

    SW Sunk, still passable?

About to head out for Ramsgate and beyond. Has anyone tried the passage through SW sunk this year? Are last year’s waypoints still valid or have things moved?

    Canopy maker recommendations

Blue marine in Battlesbridge did a new sprayhood and refurbished my dodgers a few years ago. I was very pleased with the result.

Question on fixing hull damage whilst underway.

Just behind and inside the forward hull and bow is a V berth bed which has two lockers underneath the bed. I have made these lockers water proof in that any water that gets in them can’t go anywhere. Although the lockers still have lids and these are not water tight. I was kind of hoping that...

Question on fixing hull damage whilst underway.

I am in the process of assembling the various tools, lotions and potions required to keep afloat and moving whilst underway to Baltimore and hopefully the Azores. I do have a question. Should my hull get holed below the water line, say I dumped into something at sea, what would be the best...

    The Bear Necessities...

I have entered for the JBC and the JAC this year. For steering, I am considering using a combination of tiller pilot (I carry two) and sheet to tiller steering. I know that many single handed sailors strongly recommend a proper windvane and maybe that is indeed the way to go. However on the...

Would this be ok on the East Coast

Hmm, maybe not the Americas cup, but a race open solely to Centaurs would be an excellent idea. Perhaps there should be a Centaur class in the RIOW race, open to Centaurs only. Does anyone have any contacts in the RIOW race committee to float (pardon the pun) this idea?
