    YouTube channels to watch

Mads and Ava over on Sail Life are worth a watch.

Skype alternatives for data to landline/mobile phone calls.

We use Draytel's pay as you go service over cable broadband. You get a geographic number so people can call you and cheap VOIP to landline calls. You manage and top up credit online, and use an Internet phone (Siemens Gigaset) that plugs into both your internet router and also old fashioned...

“What would you do?” (asking for a friend of a friend)

Nothing useful to add, but best wishes. "Rise again!"

    Cutting Formica covered board

Have had some success with using two passes with a circular saw and find toothed blade. The first just to score the surface, the second to go through.

    Leo's EBay auction

I saw that. Sent him a few quid to help out, it seems like a good cause. Ebay seems full of chancers these days.

    Calmac vocabulary

The use of language to obfuscate true meaning is a curse of our modern age. At least they didn't encounter "buoyancy issues resulting in a negative floatation event".

    Tally ho

A few of the comments said the same. Personally, I was wondering about the depth of that galley, but I'm sure he knows what he's doing.

    Lyme Disease And Ticks

Nasty disease, son had it. The NHS were no help at all, but we found a retired doctor who knew a lot about the subject, and had started a non-profit community clinic to help people with Lyme. Although I was initially sceptical, the coil machine treatment worked for him.

    More encounters with Orcas...

Is the case you're making that we should cull Orcas to save a few quid on fibreglass repairs, or that they are actually endangering human life?

    Entry-level circular saw

Mine... Previous one (corded Screwfix brand) spontaneously combusted when I tried to cut along the grain of a 5 foot long 6cm thick bit of timber.

    Zebu Aground Holyhead

She doesn't have much luck - a few years ago the Zebu sank in the Albert Dock.

How much does it cost to live aboard a boat?

This video attempts to answer the question from the point of view of a single American guy on a low-tech engine-less boat.
