My elderly Tinker Tramp has developed a leak through a cracked floorboard. I've removed the board and cleaned up the four flaps of fabric that held it in place. Which adhesive should I use to glue the fabric to the marine ply?
Not in this position, but I'm interested to know how much diver assistance with freeing a fouled yacht anchor would cost (compared with cost of maybe £1000 to replace anchor and chain.)
Thanks

I keep my boat in Port Solent. It has a 20- year-old cooker gas installation; a surveyor recently recommended an armoured hose connecting copper tube to cooker. I'd like some sensible professional advice and realistically priced work to ensure that it is at a safe standard. The market appears...
I am having similar troubles over my order. No replies to emails, and phone either is not answered or gives me a recorded request to leave a message. I do this, but it doesn't get answered.
Made my own sail-tainer type cover some years ago (based on a very decayed one made by a sailmaker) for about £200 materials including UV-resistant thread. Lots of really bad sewing but it works. Easy enough to design and worth doing if you have access to a heavy duty sewing machine.
A kindly reader has advised me that I should use the manual for the McMurdo M10 AIS to identify the Port 1 output wires, and at the Standard Horizon CP180 plotter to identify the two input wires. No problem with the transponder, but the plotter only has a single input wire. Would some kind...
Hi pvb. That sounds reassuring. My problem that Port 1 on the AIS has grey, yellow, purple and white wires; Port 2 has brown, blue, green and orange. The NMEA cable from the chart plotter doesn't have purple or orange. Can I mix and match between the two ports (e.g. grey, yellow, green, white)?
Can I interface my old Standard Horizon 180 chart plotter with a McMurdo Smartfind M10 Class B AIS transponder? If so, which wires connect with which? (no orange or purple in the SH180 cable). Apart from saving the expense of a more modern chart plotter, the SH180 is very compact and uses little...
Does anyone know where I can find the rubber mushrooms for the inflation valves on a Tinker Tramp? Now that Henshaw no longer make the boat I don't know the best place to start. Thanks for any help.
My experience in the Solent is similar to other respondents - I get only very slight limescale fouling of the bowthruster prop, easily removed by a weak acid.
