    Winterising raw water circuit?

Now I'm sure Paul can take a bit of ribbing as well as give it. There's no offence intended and I don't think any was taken either.

    Winterising raw water circuit?

Good man Paul. I reckon you're probably a sound guy, even if you come across as a bit of a ****! :encouragement:

    Winterising raw water circuit?

Yep, after doing a bit more Googling there does seem to be some substance to it. (Although like yourself I've never come across it.) But I'm going to keep using the blue anti freeze (think it's Ethylene-Glycol) and that way I'll avoid the risk even if it is only a slight one.

    Winterising raw water circuit?

So there is something in what the guy in the motor-factors said after all. Well I've always used the blue stuff and I'll just stick with that. Better get down to the boat tomorrow and get that job out of the way! Ta for the info guys.

Going round the Kerry coastline was just amazing. But I'd bet the Antrim coast line would top that. I lived in Bangor myself for a...

    Shannon cruising - First time

I know this is an old thread but for anyone else planning a similar holiday on the Shannon with elderly crew OF's advise is spot on. IE get into port early in order to get a mooring against a quay wall. There is no point arriving into a busy port like Dromod or Carrick at 8pm and expect to...

    Anyone sailed round Ireland?

Hope you'll let us know how the trip went. Weather wasn't as good this July as it was in June. But I always reckon that even a really bad day on the boat is still much better than a good day in work!

courtesy flag for Scotland and Ireland

When we pulled into Cornwall having sailed from Ireland we flew St Piran's flag. It's a black flag with a white cross on it. It's the Cornish flag and they don't like you flying the red duster there! The peoples republic of Cornwall I guess ;-)
