Just bought a second hand Simrad rd68 dsc radio. In the manual it states that you have to return the unit to a authorised dealer to have the original MMSI number erased to be able to input a new number. Is it possible to erase the number myself and how do I do it. Many thanks

Does anyone know of an online retailer that sells stainless steel nuts, bolts, screws etc. in small quantities? Most hardware stores only sell A2 stainless, whereas you know for marine use you should use A4, and I refuse to pay marine chandlers prices(I'm a cheapskate!)...

Anchor Suitable for boats up to 40" ? Would suggest a slightly smaller anchor for a boat thats just over a metre long!

engine BMC 1500 diesel, removed from an old J4 van and fitted in the boat 40 years ago. Not started for about 15 years, changed oil and filters, new glow plugs and battery, started first time and runs great.

anode definately not oil/water, looks like as I suspected it may be the remains of an anode, just need to find where it came from so I can replace it. Thanks for your help guys, and if anyone knows where the anode is likely to be on a wortham blake conversion please let me know.
