I just remember that Orkney is best going clockwise, as heading north on the east of Orkney, you will always have a tide against you which seams to head south permanently unless you go way far east. We’ve always gone up the west coast and through Eynhallow Sound.

I am not familiar with the three that you mention but we bought the Seago Vancouver last year and it is a really good boat which is in your budget, with drop stitch floor and made from good pvc like their tenders. It paddles well, tracks well even without the skeg fitted.

Scottish Canals engineers are replacing an actuator on the Cairnbaan bridge during which time the bridge will be closed to boat traffic. This is effective from 12 March 2025 until further notice.

I replaced our three domestic LA batteries last year at 7 years old with lithium. Surprised to find the single LA engine one was 12yo and still working fine on a Yanmar 3GM.
