I remember buying a block of old charts which had converted into a notepad.
you might not like putting a knife to the charts, but its a way of reusing them.
i have a Johnson pump on my md7a and I use a f35 impeller. the Volvo penta impeller is slightly to small for my pump which affects the amount of water which is sent around the system.

not sure that any mobile phone is waterproof, but you can get decent hard waterproof cases which should help protect your phone. look for a decent case and find out what phones it will take, and start from there... unless you have a personal favourite phone you prefer.
after years of toing and froing from the repairers I ditched my st2000+ and bought a spx5, the main box in the saloon and ram out in the cockpit.
no problems since and unit can be relied on. even got £100 for the st2000+ on a claimback offer from raymarine.
