    Red diesel staining

Does anyone know if there is a way to remove red diesel residue from a plastic fuel can that I want to reuse for white diesel. I wondered if a swill out with thinners might do the trick? But is it necessary? Thanks.

    How to connect yakbitz

Slight thread drift but the Yakka I fitted seems to get very hot. Does anyone know if that’s normal. It is an nmea 0183 to Wi-Fi unit.

    Brunson prop anode

The prop fixing nut is well recessed and out of the way on mine too but it is the older hub, maybe the current hubs have a protruding fixing nut. Perhaps the Brunson supplied anode is manufactured by die casting.

    Brunson prop anode

Does anyone know why some anodes for a Brunton prop have a hollow centre and others are solid? The one I have just bought from Bruntons has a hollow centre but the old one was solid. Does it make any difference, other than one might last a longer.

Flashing Red LED on Bavaria Shore Power Panel

That may have been my boat Alec. After studying the wiring diagrams I found a strap was missing that bonded all the boat earths together on the boat side of the galvanic isolator. When I fitted the strap the polarity light performs normally. As you suggest I would look at the boat electrics first.

If it’s any help,15 years ago while on holiday in Kerala I bought a teak plank approx 5’x12”x1” , which I needed to replace the capping on the transom. I got our hotel to wrap in newspaper and tie it as a parcel and brought it back as baggage. Nothing untoward happened, but I’m not sure that...

    Rocket station

If you are ever around Tynemouth, the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade Museum is well worth a visit. It’s situated near the Collingwood memorial and its breeches buoy apparatus covered most of the entrance to the Tyne. Quite a few vessels were wrecked on the rocks that are just inside the...

    Mirage 26 Seaworthyness

We went on one of the last Mirage flotilla sailing holidays in Greece and were pleased with the 28’s room and sailing ability. Subsequently we bought a 28 as our first boat and owned it for about 10 years. We found it good for what we were doing at the time, South coast sailing and the...
