If it is this Saturday, not the weekend just gone, that you are arriving it may be worth seeing if you can set off an hour earlier? High water slacks are about 1600 and that makes for an easier end to the passage.
Aside from last weekend, which was the finale of the annual festival, the harbour has had plenty of room on buoys.
As said though, the anchorage is excellent in any case.

It looks like a good system, after all the broker puts in a similar effort regardless of the value.
The point about all their boats being genuinely for sale is a good one too.

You may well think it is claptrap, but you can't opt out of it (and still fly).
If it any consolation they have reviewed the ban on liquids several times and are doing so again, it seems likely that it will be lifted or removed all together.

The entrance to the harbour is seriously deep, even the Victorians had to think twice about attempting a NW-SE wall. That said, they did start on it but then steam became popular and tiding over was not such a priority.
