Nanni 4.390 saga continues (low power low speed)

Jamie, I have been following you for ages on Youtube :) My MF805 has only started this recently so I need to investigate more. My coolant is not affected. I will dump the Snapp and refit the original (spotless) Racor first and check the wastegate. Just retired so no excuses now.

Nanni 4.390 saga continues (low power low speed)

Mine is doing the same now.. I did fit a Snapp filter which should be ok but might be impeding the flow of diesel. I didn't check the waste gate yet. She is down to 15 knots full throttle now :-(

Not yet. I'm still researching the best option. Charlie

    Towing with a van

I believe that some of the larger vans have towing capacities greater than 3500 kgs. Probably fine for towing on level surfaces but as Chrome said, might not be great on a slip.

Auto pilot for Merry Fisher 805

Thanks for the reply. I was going with Lowrance because I have a HDS touch that would control the Lowrance unit.

Auto pilot for Merry Fisher 805

Hi Folks I want to fit an autopilot to my Merry Fisher 805. Looks like my only option is the Lowrance cable steering version, Outboard Pilot Cable-Steer Pack | Marine Autopilot | Lowrance USA Has anyone fitted one of these or is there another option for a MF805? Charlie

Merryfisher 805 heating and hot showers

Depends on the sprayer size and the number of bodies for washin I used to use one around four litres. One kettle with cold would get the water to 45C It is surprisingly efficient, give it a go and you will see what I mean.

Merryfisher 805 heating and hot showers

Just an update, Got my exhaust transom fitting from Aliexpress. It took about a week from China to Ireland !! Its very well made. I have the stainless elbow and silencer coming from Southern Marine Products who were great to deal with and no problem shipping to Ireland. I will try Dust Spares...

    transport issues

Looks like there may have been a bearing there one time or an option for one. Maybe bolt on an extension to make it like the MF805. You can see it under the rudder. Probably little chance of a rope getting in there unless you were reversing.

    transport issues

Great that you got her home. I would say just clean the anodes and let them erode away. Looks like they are fairly fresh so waste of cash and effort to replace themnow. Some marinas and moorings are worse than others for anode erosion. Only way to find out is launch her and see. Don't know about...

Merryfisher 805 heating and hot showers

Thanks for the photos Freddy I will be on her this weekend so will have a look at your routing. Looks like it makes sense. I might put the calorifier in behind the starter battery, depending on which size I go for, I like the fact that i can squeeze down (just) in front of the engine to work on it.

Merryfisher 805 heating and hot showers

Thanks for your offer. This is a job that will not be done together. I have stainless angle plate that should be ok for mounting the heater to the bolts on the transom. Going to order a stainless exhaust skin fitting from Aliexpress. I find that most stuff from China gets through customs easier...

Merryfisher 805 heating and hot showers

Thanks Freddy for the new photos and info. I am in Ireland too and know full well what you are talking about. I recently had to drill out the lock on my boat door (lost the key) and ordered a replacement from a company in the UK. It was the only place I could find one online, anyway it was sent...

Merryfisher 805 heating and hot showers

Thanks for posting this Freddy, the article and photos are a great help. I have this job on the winter job list for my newly accuired 805. Can you remember roughly what length of hot air duct and exhaust you used? I don't have a canopy so the cockpit shower and heat would be a future add-on. I...

    Question about boat trailers

+1 for SBS trailers. Great products and excellent to deal with. I got one from them this year to tow a boat from France to Ireland. Did the job with a 2.0 Ford Ranger Wildtrack, well up to the job.
