Experience in the Clyde would easily give ranges of 10 - 20 miles for commercial shipping. There is a formula for line of sight, but power levels are generally quite low on the non-commercial transmitters so range might well be a little less for transponders used by yotties Hope that helps Bob

Thanks. The website was an official Beneteau one.. USA I think. now have to log in with customer number etc... Manuals show cable routes, running rigging layout and so have some use. PS its not a 40CC but a two year old Oceanis 40. Regards Bob

There used to be a very helpful Beneteau website with manuals, rigging guides, advice on minor repairs etc. It seems to have disappeared.. and with it access to online manuals..:mad: I was looking for the manual for an Oceanis 40.. anyone? Cheers Bob
