Why don't you drill the back of the panel out to a thinner panel thickness using a hole cutter ? Can't be seen from the front and will give you a workable mounting depth !!
I'm convinced its an auto one.

I've read the manual through thoroughly and to me, its more important what it doesn't say, rather than the bits it does.

Since the conversation has turned to getting your own panels made up, I wonder if I can ask what materials you got the panels made from ??
There is a plethora of modern plastics and they all seem to have different pro's and con's.
Also, what thickness did you go for ??
Because some people know how to test batteries the manual way - and the numbers stack up. Also, I have been able to compare the two technologies side by side.
Despite peoples cynicism about Smartgauge, which of course, you are quite at liberty to have, it does work.
I wonder how many people with Amp-Counter monitors have actually set them up properly at installation and when did you last reset them to synchronise them with the battery bank ??
