For several years now I have used Hempel Diamond two-part varnish, a brilliant product that lasts and lasts, by far the best varnish I have ever used. Now I find to my horror that it's been discontinued. (Why does this always happen with great products? See also under TriLux 33 and many...
Looking at the prices of these laminate options (they all look great of course!) I am now wondering about using just plain marine plywood (Robbins Elite) and painting it with some sort of non-slip coating. Any recommendations for a coating product, people?
I've used S3i several times over the years and can attest to their excellent service and the quality of their work. You can measure yourself, or just send your old wires off to them and they will match them. Recommended. I have connection with them other than as a customer.
I need to replace the cabin sole as it's battered and also getting discoloured, probably rotten. I got a quote from Robbins for a sheet of 3/4" stripy (which is what it is now) and reeled back in amazement at the cost - £600 plus VAT, packing, carriage, etc. OMG. Are there other options? (To...

There is no noticeable free play on the prop shaft so it should be good for a while if...
I have an ST2000+ which is about four or five years old.
It worked fine until last week, and I have always been very careful to keep it dry.
Suddenly it won't switch into automatic - if you hit the Auto button it just beeps and shows 2000 on the display.
What could be wrong?
Recently had my third Garmin GPS 65 fail on me. Fair do's, these are pretty old machines now. But I need something that will really replace it rather than just scouring eBay (again!) for yet another second hand one.
So can anyone recommend a modern GPS that:
1. Can be panel-mounted
2. Runs off...
There are lots of boats apparently permanently moored in the Crinan Canal, which look like total wrecks. It's hard to believe they ever passed any inspection.
