Just paid over £9.00 for tube of Sikaflex black EBT sealant. It was around £6.50 last year . Apparently blamed on raw materials but 40%? If this is typical of price inflation for materials Lord help us.

Tried the Matt Gold cove line tape but the adhesive always gave up the ghost mid season due to saltwater ingress. If anyone knows how to get round this problem I would love to hear from them as it’s such a faff painting it.

Lost a bronze stanchion base overboard while re sealing the joint. Came away suddenly and whoops, into the harbour mud. Anyone out there point me in the direction of a source in UK preferably used. Plenty on eBay from USA but postage prohibitive. Boat built 1961 and base takes a 1inch stanchion.

One way to help manoeuvrability going astern in marinas with a 36 ft long keeler. Not for sea going though. Tucks away down below.
