As per title, I am looking for an injector leak off rail / spill pipe for a perkins t6.354 engine. One of the banjo fittings on mine has been leaking a little and refuses to seal. Anyone got a spare lurking in the shed before I try and make one up from spare fittings? Many Thanks Alex

Whilst it could probably be done, an OM606 isnt all that powerful and It would probably be a waste of money for disappointing performance.

These engines run very cool at river speeds, in a friends boat with the same engine there is barely any heat provided to the calorifer unless running harder. There's probably nothing wrong other than the engines just aren't making enough waste heat at low revs (under 1500 rpm)

I bent a rudder on my old freeman 22 and got a new bronze replacement from Sheridan Marine off the shelf. Would be worth a call if you can't straighten it, the rudder was reasonably priced from them.

These engines are very old tech and so are noisy and vibrate. In a friends fairline they vibrate horribly but this can be offset a little by having the engines run at slightly different revs so they don't set up a resonance. It's very unlikely the probs are causing the vibrations unless they are...

Lift pump is right next to the on engine fuel filter. Has two screws on top to undo then you can pull out the little filter. Has a lever on the bottom to bleed the system out when changing filters. Cav filters if fitted are the small canister filters with either a glass or metal bowl on the...

Once you check filters, both on engine and pre filters, also check the little gauze in the top of the fuel lift pump which probably gets forgotten about. Then bleed the system throughly so there is no air in the pump. Also air filters if not changed as they get blocked with fumes from the crank...

Has the boat ever done more than 2500rpm with the prop that is on it? I would suggest the marine version would need a few more revs to provide full boost pressure. Marine versions of this engine are normally set up to boost at the top end. My mates fairline with a volvo diesel does not boost...
