Should yachting take you out of your comfort zone?

When a gale starts building on passage it can get scary, but after a few hours it becomes normal and not scary. The scary thing for me used to be a flat calm sea and no wind, I used to get very jittery. Now I have a power boat I love calm seas

    Perkins M30 (Volvo 2030) wiring

A Google search will bring up a wiring diagram. Have you looked if the oil pressure sender wire is connected? It's under the heat exchanger on the top left hand side of the engine as you look forward. The light will stay on if it's disconnected

Whilst walking in the marina I saw these 2 horrors

In the 70s I bought a honda CB72, riding it home i slowed down after turning into my road and promptly went over the handlebars right Infront of a bus stop full of people. Not wanting to look silly I got back on and rode off only for it to happen again almost straight away. Severely bruised and...

Is the boatowners "wave" operational in all parts of the world ?

I wave at most people and I feel silly when they just look.

YouTube s/v Delos - your opions

We have watched them from the start. Very different then as they had lots of volunteer crew, usually bikini clad beauties. Nice couple but since their daughter has come along I think they are taking a different route, but still need to generate income. Building D2 has given them a base for a...

Selling my boat - potential buyers remarks are usually negative!

The thing is, you have to put yourself in the buyers shoes, it's a substantial amount of money and there are a few things you need to fix first As to cleaning the boat there are outfits around that will clean and polish the boat up to look almost like new for a few hundred quid. Why not be...

Are our chainplates going to kill us?

Would it be possible to drill a few holes in the encapsulation and see if any water comes out? If not all good I guess

    Watchet dredging well underway.

I'm in Cardiff marina about once a month on business. Last time I was there about 2 weeks ago OS was walking down the pontoon!! I was told by a berth holder that the dry stack, workshops and boat lift are run by MPG all the rest is run by WM, the carpark has apparently been sold off for...

    Watchet dredging well underway.

Great idea. But Who would fund it? The problem with watchet is that the marina doesn't generate much income for the parent company. I don't think it's ever made a profit. I hope a solution can be found as I love the place and I have many happy memories of sailing there, even when it was a...

    What a shame

The grey boat in the background in some pictures looks an interesting vessel, MFV by the looks.
