Seems curious to me that taking back control has resulted in the restriction of the free market and its values, so beloved by those usually unaffected by the tax penalties imposed.
The price difference on average seems to about.................20% extra for boats in the UK.

In that case a boat purchased in another country and imported to the UK with VAT added is perhaps not so expensive at it might seem ?

I assume the VAT applies to anything that people might bring back from abroad . At the uk border are there checks on whether people have evidence of VAT being paid on everything they are wearing or carrying in their luggage ?

Thanks for that , spotted it on Boats & Outboards, bit left field , stuff on there does not appear on many normal internet websites

Going to spend a day or two away driving round Blighty to view a few boats next month.Possibility that owners might be a tiny bit more amenable to a deal if boat has been on the market for awhile.
Boats are still selling ,another one recently departed our moorings and noted a well known Broker was parked in the club car park yesterday. A prospective buyer had driven down from Birmingham to view a boat.

The AC43 is off the list , airdraft problems, looks to be a real drama/expence to hinge that radar arch.
Couple more Princess 40 for sale have popped up down on the Solent, only couple of hours drive away.
Awaiting a call back, neither of the brokers contacted appears to be in any rush.
