I bought a Zippo lighter "for life" to ignite my onboard cooker.

But it seems Zippo's current offerings seem much reduced, for new and service offering.

What alternatives are there?

My defunct Zippo is long snouted to get the flame to the burners.

Thank you in anticipation.

There are plenty of piezoelectric gas lighters in the pound shops. Even if they run out of gas the spark will still light your gas [or meths] burner. No batteries required and last for years.

How many £s to collect it, my nearest is 9 mls away

''Handy Utility Lighter With Gas Refill. Perfect for lighting gas fires, cookers, candles without the use of matches''...........................clever bastards look no matches whatever next?

+ 1

I keep mine filled though - and don't have a battery in the cooker ingniter as I want the gas to light instantly when I turn it on...

Click, click, click,click....why won't it light, I can smell gas.......

I had a look on eBay and was surprised how valuable the old Zippos are. I believe I have one somewhere bearing the crest of the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard (Motto: I have not yet begun to fight, don't tread on me ), exchanged for a threepenny piece more than 50 years ago in Hong Kong. Must be worth a lot more than 3d now.

I had a zippo flexi neck lighter purchased by a friend as a present lasted 3 months then wouldn't refill and leak what gas I managed to get in it, out again.
Zippo agents selling zippo lighters didn't want to know the lifetime guarantee -so now it's redundant !!

Got pound shop lighter, and refill it no problems, instant light, cheap as chips.

You can stick the zippo flexi lighter with it's life time guarantee as far as I'm concerned, the guarantee is not worth a light

B&G Vulcan 7 - sailing to a Waypoint - where does it go !

I have all my waypoints loaded on the V7 , but for the life of me I can't sail to a waypoint.

I can select a wpt and initially it does show me initially where I am going and distance and bearing shown down in the left hand corner of the chart.

BUT, as soon as I touch the screen, or zoom etc, the little window down in the LH corner starts showing a different distance and bearing ... and all this before moving!

Alright, I know it's me.

Good guidance please.:disgust:

Can I trecommend Swan Vestas or Messrs Bryant and May. Generally very effective unless immersed

How long does a box of lucifers last? My current cheapo lighter's lasted a few years and I still have plenty of spare gas, despite lighting the stove and sealing rope ends innumerable times.

What's with the change of thread name? How did that happen?
