Does anyone have experience with the mid sized Z spar headsail furling gear? I am weighing up whether to get one....

The Z Spar furling gear is priced well and the one good thing about it is that it comes with no joins, ie the foil is one length. You pay your money and make your choice, Facnor is another make from France, finished better but more money, you can't go wrong with a Furlex or Harken but again you will pay more. The Sailspar continuous system is also good and well priced. If you are using an old sail another cost will be to change the bolt rope, most new gears have a 5mm finished bolt rope, older gears tend to be bigger. If you need a new sail as well buy from a sailmaker who may offer you a discount.
