I've just been to the marina and as I left I saw two men loitering around outside the gate.

I opened the gate opened with the gate card and parked blocking the entrance.

I spoke to them to the effect
This is Private and you will not be able to get out.

As it happened they were Swedish ! and communication was easy for me.......or so I thought, as I drove away they walked in the gate as it closed /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

What would you have done ?

I thought about going back but by the time the gate had reopened they would be well gone and what could I do anyway ?
I could hardly restrain them
No security guard ( no need for one with a 8 ft security fence and gate).

Why not just go to the marina office and tell them that two blokes who are not berth holders have entered the marina and it might be worth their while for the staff to keep an eye on them (or politely ask their business)?

I darnt say now, jhr has me worried, if the Fairline 50 disappears I will have to keep a low profile for a while .

There are no staff on until later.

You dont think they would try to make sweden in a Fairline 50 do you ?

It would cost more in fuel than the boat is worth !

They'll most likely walk out with an outdrive under each arm, wait a couple of weeks and return for the new replacements.

That's why my drive is coming off and being stored at home while the boat is on the hard.

Crikey, do you keep your boat in a Marina or a Halting Site??
