/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gifMidst all the pressures and rush of life, sometimes the most precious part of a sailing trip is that moment or place when you become 'still' inside.

This is one of mine from last year, returning to base at the end of a very blustery two week late season cruise with a day to spare for wallowing in the bar. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Was so tranquil, I didn't even bother to 'race' this guy as he overtook me /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif Absolutely unthinkable /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I find a weekend isnt long enough ,It takes me 3 or 4 days to completely unwind.I feel sorry for people I see sailing but having to be a slave to the mobile phone every 5 minutes.

Aww shucks /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Lots of preparations still to be done (working through the list slowly - although the more we get through the list the more we find to do!)

Tina and I have been very lucky over the last four years or so. Sometimes the company has been the memorable memory, some times the solitude.

Many happy times on the water, away from the rat race!

Thank you Graham,

She is a 'Winkle-Brig', Called 'Peanuts'. In days gone by there were loads of these up here, they used be used to sail out to the salt marshes between tides, they would let themselves 'dry-out', and the 'crew' used to rake the mud and collect the winkles, you could fit a ton of winkles in them and still sail home to the Basin.

She was berthed here at Heybridge Basin, and having the sail number HB1 was a tad Gucci! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Built in 1979 by Pete 'Speedy' Ellis, here on the River Blackwater.

She now sails on the Lakes 'oop norf!

Heres a couple more, I do miss her, she was great to just pop out on for a pair of hours on the tide.
