The Bray bunch were spotted wining and dining in RCC on Wednesday night and despite what everbody ses...Apollo is actually a nice bloke. :)

Likewise :)
It's a shame the weather wasn't better for you, but at least Friday is looking a lot better for your return journey.
Summer can't be too far away, can it?!

(Weekend is looking promising at the moment :) )

Very smart they looked too in their blazers.
Always though it was traditional to give a round of applause after somebody makes a speech ...not before .
Ps.Think we might be missing some spoons ...:)

When you leave on Friday if you glance across the river to RE moorings just upstream from the lock gate, you can see the blue hulled Powles 36 the gun runners used to bring in the stuff from Latvia or wherever they were sourced.
It is now firmly ashore presumably awaiting the attentions of some marine auctioneer.

A powles 38 I suspect not a 36.

Stand corrected,always liked the Powles.
There is an excellent website detailing the history somewhere.
http://white.coral.free.fr/page25.html
We also have a couple of Tremletts locally.
Examples of a time when boats were designed for use on the water and not the present crop fashionable melted ice cream marina queens.
Better add a smiley :)

The website would be a load better if the author had run a spellcheck over it prior to lodging it for all to see. I know I'm a spelling Nazi but that site really is appalling.

I well recall Tremletts. They were the boat for the jet set playboy who knew his boats. In the 60s I had a 17 footer that I used for skiing at Hayling Island and way above Bursledon Bridge on the Hamble.

There is beautifully restored 36 used as a weekend cottage/livaboard just below Maidstone, shame it never moves, and a really original 46 in MDL Chatham.
A really trim mean looking boat with no bulges or lumps added merely for effect.
