You Tube top 10 sailing channels Ceil 3

I noticed Ceil 3 was for sale some time ago, I expect you had your hands full with the refit.
I think she was based in Plymouth at one stage. Thanks for the link and Good Luck with it.

Quite a few there that I've not seen, but I would very much recommend 'sailing ran'.

A lot less OTT than some of the others, and by far my favourite sailing videos :)

Yes some work is required but as it is a well known classic (1973) I want to try and keep it as original as possible with modernisation safety upgrades mainly to do with communication and navigation.

Thanks I will look at "sailing ran" I have also been notified other people would have made the list slightly differently and all comments will be noted!

Glad you're bucking the trend then Dylan!...........

ugly boat, ugly bloke, cold water sailing in unexotic places, no drone, no underwater shots, no tits

need to raise my game

So I took a look at a random episode from each one in that list, (except the op's of course as he hasn't started)
and I have to say, without exception, I was bored. There is no real storyline to hang an interest on, a lot of the camera work is boring and I have to think the soft porn aspects must attract a lot of the subscribers.

Compared to the first three videos from the guys that Niander posted about, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BCcyMt4tN4

Now thats some serious short film making. Obviously some of these guys are making a living doing this, and good on them, I'm not knocking that. Its like books, just because its about sailing or a journey, I stop reading it if it doesnt draw me in, I want a short film to grab me and hook me.

Sorry, I know there are better than that, see the link above :) or dylans, which have much more interesting content.

No mention of the Teleport series of films or of KTL. I notice that as well as all the flesh on show the boats seem to be big and expensive.

I've stopped watching sailing channels apart from Barry Perrins and the Norwegian guy who does a lot of drone footage.. Barry's uploads are around 10 minutes, always good humoured and he presents in an honest style with none of the cliched nonsense already discussed.

Barry appears to do his videos for enjoyment and not as a means to make money funding a lifestyle via YouTube hit count, hence the lack of bikini clad vacuous females on the title screen or therein.

Barry's superb 'old sea dog' videos average around 8000 viewers per upload, whereas dull generic 'Bikini sailing in the tropics' videos can attract views in 800'000 range..

I'm currently weather bound in Tarbert and its pissing down. Last thing I want to subscribe to is a youtube sailing channel showing me how it's done in the sun and 'why not donate some money you earned in work this week to keep us in bikinis and beer while your at it'..

I personally prefur ktl beacuse I could do that in my vivacity 20 there's no way I will have the money for a big new yacht and to sail the word but I will sail the solent and visit some of the places Dylan has been as he does exactly what I want to do with my yacht maybe not round the uk but just amble around
