Can you please pretend this was a where was it? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I never normally get them right, but am sure that I've got it this time! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Started in the first pics at Bucklars Hard and ended up off Cowes? Though not having sailed that part of the world for many years, Cowes looks quite developed now.....

So.....? Do I win the pot? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I dont think that it is a truster ( thruster ) operating midships,
but main engine exhaust and cooling outlet. Normally when berthing she launches her rib to use as a tug, nudging her alongside.

Fully agree!..

..and this is a very professional manoeuver.. I'm doing it, when the wind is pushing my boat toward the quay:

- with the ruder completely toward the quay side.. As the boat can't go forward, the stream of water from the propeller will move the boat aside..

As I have the back rope around the bolard and back, when there is enough distance to the quai, I just have to release the rope to be underway (but be carefull to not take the rope into the propeller)..
