I am off tomorrow to look at another 16 boats. I am quite happy to tell you that my budget is £40K, that I am looking to live aboard and sail her, and at the moment I am viewing a wide range of boats both modern and traditional. Will give you an update next week!

Um, ya wouldn't be in need of an aged cabin boy would ya? I can tug me forelock, and shuffle about all 'umble like with the best of 'em!

I don't cost much to keep, just the odd bowl of gruel and an occasional weavely biscuit. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Aw Shucks! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don't forget what I told ya, "Don't take prisoners!" let us know how you get on?

Try living abroad and buying a boat, non-resident of UK, banks won't touch, paid in sterling into UK bank account, locals won't touch. Company working on behalf of won't supply alternative, and all for an amount that would be paid back in 8-10months.

Sea trial done, survey done, quote for work done, negotiations done, hair pulled out, tables thumped, rant rant rant, I chose the wrong month to give up drinking

You have my sympathy.......I think? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Aaaaaaw now, I am sure we can all do better than that, daft question probably, but why don't you fly over, buy a boat, and sail home?

In somebody elses immortal words.................

I'll get me coat! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

well, I found the boat and its in trinidad all ready and waiting, met the owners who are living aboard and so this is where all the stress comes in.

I suppose I could just fly home, pick up a bit of paper which says I live at an address that I don't currently live at, apply for a loan, wait for paperwork, sign, and fly back and buy the boat!

But its a bit much
