You see him here, you see him there, but can anybody say where?

Bloody hell! is Charley Stock still at it? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

He is an amazing old boy! I met him once many years ago, and found him to be a thoroughly nice bloke!

Well I never. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I attended his navigation evening classes back in 1971 at Harold Wood. It seemed more of a social event than serious learning but thoroughly enjoyable.
He's one of the nicest tax inspectors I know.
He never has to worry about what sea toilet to buy or if he has the correct anchor, he just goes sailing.

Although I was aware of the great man, he approached me on the seawall at Sholtely marina circa 1990 at the Shotley Classics, where we were struggling to put up our tent in the elephant grass to camp for the week. He said he had the very thing for us on his boat, and disappeared over the seawall.

He returned minutes later with a sickle. A sickle, on a 16' boat!! Presumably an anti-pirate weapon, but it made our life a lot more comfortable for Shotley Week.

Saw him three weeks or so ago, sailing out of South Channel in Tollesbury, and he told me he had sailed my Black Diamond in her glory days in the 60s
