Had a customer in today to book a day skipper course for he and the wife. We had been recommended to him by M.Marbella, who he had just bought a new boat from.

This often happens and assuming he's probably bought a 30-40ft Searay I ask casually "have you bought a Searay then", erm no a Dominator 86.

Get the feeling we will be giving him further tuition once he takes delivery of his new boat it being 50ft longer than the one hes gonna train on :~)

Happens here all the time. Last year two pred 72 first time owners no experience. Seems if you have the cash entry level is now between 60-80' What credit crunch, Big players still fighting for build timings.

Actually its worse from my part cos when he said Dominator 86, I immediately assumed it was the Dom 86 I had collected from Banus and took to Gib recently for repossession by the bank, a fair assumption maybe given that its not everyday someone buys an 86, so my initial line was "are a Dom 86 is it called so and so"? (the name of the Dom I took to Gib) thinking hes bought the repossession.

He looked at me very puzzled, and said no its called blah blah and is brand new.

doh.....How embarrassing
