I travelled up the Ouse to York last week,thought I would contact Selby Rail Bridge re:the work they were going to do this summer.The bridge keeper said because of the land slip between Scunthorpe and Doncaster there was a good chance it would be delayed as they didn't want 2 lines closed in the same area.He did say that the bridge was working OK but to let them know you are coming by the time you get to Boothferry bridge.The reason being that the bridge opens OK but they have to call engineers out to make sure the bridge has re-locked.Incidentally the river was the cleanest I have seen it.
