Whilst clearly they can't - and thankfully so - cover all the anchorages I am delighted that they chose the well known ones so those of us in the know about the others can be left in peace.

I profoundly hope they will not do any more on the hundreds of nicer, quieter and prettier anchorages in Scotland. The longer the sassenachs stay away the better.

I agree, but substitute Cornwall for Scotland and Picts and Scots for Sassenachs. Well, we might both just as well get done for "inciting racial whatever" as only one of us!

Well - we could always do a number with a bit of misinformation.
Thats a lovely wee place tucked in by those rocks of Ardrossan don't you think?
Another of my favourites is the bay just north of Portpatrick - particularly good in a westerly and further north what about that delightful and totally undiscovered jewel 15 metres to the west of the Falls of Lora?

Have not read the article but always surprises me for example that dozens of yachts gather in a gaggle to use Osbourne bay when half a mile along is empty bliss or that people still use it when its an on shore wind. I use Totland bay a lot and can't remember when we had another boat for company overnight. If the weathers calm I sling the hook most places.

Given the weather you've had over the last year I wouldn't worry about a stampede North.

We holiday around Lochs Torridon and Gairloch every year having towed our little boat all the way. Last year we got a week of decent weather which, by all accounts, was about the best of the season. Having said that, we'll be at Shieldaig end of July again, looking out the window onto our perfect little anchorage with not another person in sight most of the time. We can just see to the normal anchorage for visiting yachts from the cottage and often potter over in the inflatable for a look. Always makes me v. jealous though.

I've often wondered if any of them forumites.

Had the pleasure of anchoring overnight in Badachro. Weather warm and settled.
Will be back next year - with the hope of visiting Poolewe and maybe Loch Broom.

Guess what chart I got for my Xmas!
