Just read this month's YM and amazed to see repeated references to scrubbing teak decks. Presumably IPC have shares in companies replacing teak decks.
The "teak" we get nowadays on yachts (even expensive ones) is much softer and more easily damaged than the "real teak" that used to be available. I scrounged a large chunk of 100-year old 2 inch thick teak chemistry bench a few years ago, and despite 100 years of chemical spills, about a millimeter under the surface was pristine straight-grained golden teak, that was as hard as iron and would barely float.
