I've been a subscriber to YM since 2005, but I no longer have my copy of YM Jan 2009: Six ISO 9650 liferafts tested

Anyone got a copy?

I need a 6-person liferaft. It will be for use in the Canary Islands, so we are quite often over 20 miles from land. Any suggestions or other info?

No, no ,no.

Clearly he wants someone to quickly scan it on their iPad and quietly and privately email it to him as that sort of thing is frowned upon.

Sorry, I have binned all my back copies.

Sorry, I chucked them a year or so back to clear up space in my library.

You could try CA library if you're a member because they keep mags back to year dot for reference.

My dad died last year and he had 45 years of (weekly!) copies of Country Life magazine. He tried giving some away but the family wouldn't take them. I'm not joking, he kept every copy since I was a lad. It's fortunate that he had a large house, but even then he had to 'export' some to his holiday flat. It took numerous trips to the tip to clear them. It's made me resolve to chuck old mags out - so that's why I can't help!

Well funny you should say that...

As you know and this is where we fall out we do of course have copy service / shop for just this type of thing and yes it will cost you.

But whilst we are on that subject we are looking at the whole of copy shop and how to improve it, I cant say too much now but it should (fingers crossed) be a whole lot better for the user and that's all I have been told for the time being.

And whilst we are on that subject again some of our sister titles actively encourage users to "scrapbook" their useful bits and bobs and (ipad etc) by taking a screen shot and placing it in a photo album.

There is no reason why you cant do the same if you have the digital version, its not frowned upon.

Cheers

I wouldn't mind paying, but not twice :)

As an alternative to your copy service: sack the staff, put all magazines free online after a few months. A lot of magazines I read do this. The best is Elektor, you can get a free PDF download immediately if you subscribe the printed copy. None of the nonsense of taking up 500MB of storage on a iPad.

But if I ruin or loose a pair of trousers I don't expect the shop to give me another pair for free!
