Yet another Fridge querry

Why is it that a gas fridge onboard needs to be vented OB yet the cooker doesn't ?? Surely gas is gas . /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: Yet another Fridge querry

Your cooker should also be "vented" ie a vent, port light or hach open when cooking, carbon monoxide is produced by both and is just as deadly!
One other thing, a gas fridge is always on, so produces CO all the time, which can build up. Cooker is on for a while then off, giving time for the CO to disperse.
One of the reasons, gas fridges are not reccomended for boats.
