Set off about 10.30 yesterday morning for Gib, in brilliant sunshine flat seas, and plenty of good company & beer on board. 10-15mins out approaching Sotogrande we see the first batch of dolphins, so we head over slow down and they spend the next five minutes playing first in our bow wave , diving under the boat and then jumping our wake, magic.

Pulled up at Customs (compulsory) where they check all passports log the numbers ask if we've got anything to declare (as if), (just dont ask on the way out)
sign a declaration then its off to berth

Had booked in to Marina Bay in Gib previous day, moor alongside, secure boat and its off for lunch then, a walk through Gib, collecting our duty frees
B & H 80p a pack yes 80p, 1 litre spirits £4.95.

Go to Marina office to pay its £5.50 for whole day as we were only half a day £2.75, what a rip off/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Go to fuel berth fill her up 105 galls (475litres) at £28p litre

Leave for home, round garrison point and seas even flatter now, stereo blasting on flybridge, slow down and play with three more groups of dolphins, spot some pilot whales, enter Duquesa and moor up in berth, sit on flybridge with a few beers dicussing a wonderfull day soaking up the evening sun.
Like I said its Hell out here/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

It is also very warm in my office, no dolphins to annoy me !

Also it us raining out side and i have no umbralla !

I really do not see the point on going out on boats in nice sunny climate, think of all the work when you get back, wash the decks and check the oil levels and also there is the log to fill in, I rather be in the office !

Tom

I bet you would like to swap !

Oh forgot to mention this bit, am I right in saying I saw a piccy of a silver ( ah la Pershing) Sunseeker Manhattan 105' in one of the Mags? Apparantly the owner asked for it special like, well I think that must have been it moored two up from me in Gib yesterday. It was called "Smooth Operator" damn hugh it was, mind you what a pisser if he'd asked for the special colour, took delivery then hated it.

The BP fuel berth man told me the 105' took on fuel just before I came in.
You know my humble 475 litres, well he took several hours to fill with 13000 litres (about 2857 galls) cost in the region of £3k plus.

All that and hes only got a few knts on me, oh plus about 14 berths probably,
perhaps two fridges, washing machine, plasma screens, ice maker ...................etc etc oh and a much bigger wallet.

Hi LJS thought more people would have seen the beast before now, and yes it was silver grey, but being a typical overcast english day you wouldnt have been impressed. Looked quite nice in the Gib sun though.
