Story in the Evening Standard about possible plans to bring the Clippers down to Gravesend.
Couple of decent heavyweight piers there already and a fast direct route into central London.
Certainly no weather problems to worry that size of craft, no leaves on the line and a merciful lack of traffic.
Dare one say a very pleasant method of travel compared to train or car.
Its about 30 miles and at 25 knots would certainly compare well (or be quicker) with other methods of getting to work or going out for a day.No speed limit in lower part of river.
The Clippers are not infrequently seen round here on the Medway for repair/servicing and are more than capable for handling anything the estuary can throw at them.
Heres one vote for it happening.
