My Yeoman looses all reference points I have put in after power off. Otherwise it works fine. Is there a backup battery somewhere and how to open the damn thing if there is one without destroying it. Anyone any ideas.

Thx

Joerg

Do a search "Yeoman battery" and you will find the answer .
sorry dont know how to do a link. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The battery is flat. On all but very old Yeoman units the battery is a standard camera-type. It's located in the box attached to the mat- not the puck. Open by removing the screws underneath the mat, the battery is in a holder on the circuit board. Take to Dixons or somesuch for a replacement.

Although you have lost the stored reference points, in the future to avoid doing so replace the battery in time but also keep the unit conected to a 12 volt supply during change over.

From an earlier thread, email from the makers :
"It depends on the age of your plotter.
The earlier units have a 'tagged' button cell which has a small flying lead soldered to the tags with a connector on it that plugs onto the circuit board.
Later versions have a coin cell that just slides into the coin cell holder on the pcb.
We can supply either batteries at a cost of £ 5.00 plus vat plus postage. Total £ 7.48.
You will need to identify which battery you require by releasing the six screws from the underside of the mat, that holds the cover to the 'digitiser box' on the left hand side of the mat.
Once removed, it is easy to identify which item is the battery."

Nice picture for you - Yeoman professional, though the Sport has similar innards.
