I have a Yeoman sport XL plotter and would like to interface in to
a Garmin GPS 60.
I have purchased a Garmin/yeoman interface cable but when I connect I get all 4 lights on the yeoman which indicates "not receiving valid data from GPS"

can anyone assist me in how to accomplish this?

I had a similar problem with this on a Garmin HH. From my memory You have to ensure in the settings tab under interface that the garmin is outputing the correct NMEA sentences by going into the system settings and changing it from Garmin to NMEA. I believe the default settings are for a garmin specific output rather than NMEA. Sorry I cant be of any more direct help in your case.

Oh if you don't get it working I would be happy to relieve you of your Yeoman !:)

I had the same problem. Changing the default garmin output settings to NMEA (as advised on here) sorted it out straightaway.

If there is a setting for baud rate try changing that to a low setting 4800 or 9600 after you have checked your wiring.....

In that case, I'd suspect that the plug wiring isn't suitable . I think that you need to check the actual pin to pin connections for the two devices, using the manufacturer's diagrams.
