Does anyone know if the latest Imray or admiralty leisure folios still include reference points for setting up the yeoman plotter? I know they can be used without but the Imray ones were great for quick referencing.
So were the Admiralty ones, apart from the one on the West Coast where they transposed 2 and 3!! Not sure if latest still have the reference points, being of a 'certain age' the Yeoman is a comfortable compromise, large scale planning chart, 2B pencil, waypoints fired to the electronics knowing no 'Hidden reefs' (Vestas) and off we go. Instant position plotting on Paper, hey ho.
All I can say is that they are still there on all the folio-sized charts I have, but it's been probably three years since I bought any. I do need to do a bit of an overhaul, but not this year since I doubt I'll be going far afield.
If they turn out to be missing, you can always add them with a fine pen.
I bought a new folio of Imray charts for the Thames estuary today. For anyone who may be interested, the answer to my original question is ‘yes, they do still have yeoman reference points on them’. ?
